Back in Part One of Our Twitter Strategy Piece we talked about what criteria we used to add people. This time around let’s talk about content. What goes on http://twitter.com/GILL_Media? (Did you know we also have a feed for our internet consultant business opportunity too? It’s http://twitter.com/gill_partner.) We usually post a couple of updates a day. Here’s what they tend to be:

Good Morning!

Nothing gets your day started right with a greeting, so if we’ve got time we generally say hello, especially to all the Eastern Standard Tribe members who are also walking in, logging on or generally getting on with their day. It’s a little thing, but courtesy counts.

SEO and Internet Marketing Links

As our resident Twitter guy I’ve become an overall social media junkie. Our account acts as a secondary filter for news relevant to our business as we scour Digg, StumbleUpon and other social bookmarks for important (or at least amusing) things.

Quick GILL Media News

When something happens that doesn’t merit a press release (like the brief tech issues that happened as we migrated hardware) we use Twitter to notify people. If it’s longer, we link to the relevant press release or other link.

SEO, Web Design and Internet Marketing Promotions and Offers

Our chief focus is strategic internet marketing and naturally, we’re always looking to meet and help new clients. That’s why we use Twitter to invite people to get a free website analysis or to contact us for internet marketing solutions. Our focus is on small and medium-sized business, by the way, so if you’re thinking a professional campaign is out of your company’s scale – don’t! We like working with independent entrepreneurs.

Internet Marketing Blog Updates

Finally, we include blog updates (like this one!) so that followers will know when we’ve got something longer than 140 characters to say.
